Cala de la Rijana

Between the cliffs of the Costa Tropical lies one of the most beautiful coves in the region: Cala de la Rijana. This intimate cove just off Castell de Ferro, not far from Motril, is a popular spot for those who love snorkeling, kayaking or simply want to get away from the crowds.

The water is crystal clear, the environment raw and natural. There is limited parking along the N-340, then you descend a path toward the sea. No amenities, no beach bars - just you, the sea and the sound of crickets.

We walk the shoreline ourselves, testing the sand between our toes and checking where the water is clearest. We also dive into local groups for these beach tips - but in the end, your experience says the most. See something that's off? Or do you know a bay that should really remain a secret? Let us know about it. We love tips that are just that little bit different.
