Home " Experiences " Paragliding over La Herradura
You stand on a hill, helmet on, legs slightly tense. Below you: the bay of La Herradura, the rolling slopes of the Sierra, and the shimmering blue of the Mediterranean. Then ... a few steps, a tug on the screen - and you're flying.
Paragliding over La Herradura is anything but a standard getaway. It's a brief detachment from the earth, literally. Together with an experienced instructor, you ascend from one of the surrounding hills, such as Loma del Gato or Cerro de Itrabo, depending on the wind. You don't have to be able to do anything - except dare.
The flight takes about 10 to 20 minutes, but feels like a movie in which you play the lead role. Below you see cliffs, vineyards, whitewashed cottages and, in the distance, maybe even the Sierra Nevada. Soothing and spectacular at the same time.
📸 During the flight, your pilot films everything with a GoPro. You get that footage later, so you can make your friends back home jealous.
You can choose from reliable providers such as Parapente Tropical (active since 1987) or Fly with Dirk, a Belgian pilot who will guide you calmly and professionally. Both arrange transportation to the takeoff point, provide all equipment and take photos and videos of your flight.
It's an experience that will stay with you for weeks - especially if you dare to look, up there, over the edge.
