Frigiliana is beautiful, but fair's fair: it's also steep. The narrow streets wind uphill, whitewashed facades sparkle in the sun and the views are breathtaking - provided you have breath to spare. Fortunately, there is the tourist train that leaves from El Ingenio, the old sugar cane factory on the outskirts of the village. For €3 per person you can ride for about half an hour past the most beautiful spots in the village without breaking a sweat.

What can you expect during the ride?

The mini-train runs a fixed route through the southern part of Frigiliana. Along the way, you pass viewpoints overlooking the valley, the Mediterranean Sea and the old center. Through a loudspeaker you will hear in both Spanish and English about the history of the village - from Moors to mills, from white houses to local wine. You'll drive past places you might not get to on foot and get a great overview of all Frigiliana has to offer.

Where does the train leave?

You will find the little train at El Ingenio, the imposing building that was once a palace and later became a sugar factory. It stands on the main road, near the bus stop and tourist information point. You can't miss the boarding point: there is usually a line of people ready to board.

When does the little train run?

The train runs daily, usually between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on the season and weather. During rain or outside the tourist season, service may be limited or temporarily stopped. Rides leave approximately every half hour - full = full.

What does it cost?

The ride costs only €3 per person (prices may change slightly in the future). You do not need to make reservations, but in high season it may be helpful to arrive on time.

Is it suitable for children and the elderly?

Absolutely. The little train is approachable, kid-friendly and offers shaded seating. Also ideal for those with mobility problems or just don't feel like hills.

The route takes about 30 minutes; there are no stops.
