Visit to La Herradura Coffee & Fruit Farm

Coffee plants under the sun of Andalusia

Hidden among the green hills of Almuñécar is a place you won't soon forget: La Herradura Coffee & Fruit Farm. Here coffee grows simply in Europe - a rarity you can see with your own eyes. During a tour of about two hours, the owner talks with infectious enthusiasm about sustainable agriculture, coffee growing and tropical fruits. You walk between papaya trees, pineapple plants and coffee beans, feel the sun on your hat and taste the difference between supermarket fruit and really fresh along the way. For those who want, there is a fruit tasting with ripe, locally harvested fruit (€4.95) or even a lunch with wine (€35) that takes you on a taste journey along the Costa Tropical.

For curious enjoyers and conscious travelers

Whether you come with children, are looking for a unique group activity or just want an educational and relaxing morning, this place offers it all. The grounds are easily walkable, but sturdy shoes and a cap against the sun are not a luxury. The basic tour costs €16 per person (children extra €5), and reservations are highly recommended. And those who really want to dive into the atmosphere can also join a barista course or buy their own fruit box to take home. The experience is personal, informal and at the same time surprisingly educational - a gem for those who want to experience Andalusia from the inside.
